It’s incredible how much I’ve grown in just a few years. Back then, when a coworker asked if I wanted to visit her home country, I hesitated and said I’d rather travel with my partner so he could protect me in case something happened. Looking back, it’s clear that I lacked the confidence to travel alone. But now, I’m proud to say I’ve found the courage to embark on solo adventures.
Although I mentioned my dream of traveling the world on the “Travel Page,” I didn’t explain that I used to believe I needed a partner. It wasn’t until after experiencing heartbreak that I decided to embark on my travel journey alone. This experience also led me to an awakening and allowed me to discover my true self.
Why am I Discourage? Why is my Heart so Sad ? I will put my Hope in God!

Building Self-Confidence.
In 2020, I took a bold step and decided to live in the moment. This was at a time when the world was slowly recuperating from COVID-19. I recall posting on Snapchat, “I refuse to let anything hold me back from living my life to the fullest, even death itself.”
At the time, I wasn’t sure if my emotions were clouding my judgment or if I was finally gathering the strength to take action. Nevertheless, many people avoided travel due to the pandemic, resulting in lower costs. It was an opportune moment for me to confront my apprehensions.
The Planning of My Travel
The top photo shows that I planned to stay at Arizona’s luxurious and peaceful Phoenician Hotel during my first solo trip. However, my plans took an unexpected turn when I accidentally booked my flight to the wrong airport. Despite my disappointment, I couldn’t get a refund for my non-refundable flight. Fortunately, I could cancel my hotel booking and find a new one. To ensure a peaceful trip, I stayed at the Red Rock Casino, the bottom part of the photo above, located away from the bustling Las Vegas strip.

Off to Las Vegas
Due to missing my direct flight, I had a layover in Boston. While there, I met another traveler on his way to Las Vegas but missed his flight from Baltimore. He needed to use my charger, which I happily provided. We started a conversation, and I learned he was traveling to Vegas for his birthday. I treated him to a birthday drink while we waited for our flights in the spirit of kindness. Before parting, we exchanged Snapchat information and planned to meet again in Las Vegas.
During my solo flight, fate had us seated next to each other. A kind lady onboard offered us a drink, and I was grateful for her generosity. Despite my fear of traveling alone, I was proud of myself for facing it head-on. Moreover, I conquered my fear of heights by choosing a window seat.
Life in Las Vegas
As I stepped off the plane, I was surprised to see slot machines in the airport. At that moment, I realized that life is full of unexpected experiences and opportunities waiting to be explored. It has inspired me to broaden my horizons and seek out new adventures. Although I’ve traveled through many airports, that was a unique and exciting experience that reminded me of the world’s vastness.
After that memorable experience, I decided to explore Las Vegas further. Luckily, some acquaintances from my hometown stayed at a hotel on the strip. Grateful for their hospitality, I joined them and had the chance to experience the iconic Las Vegas strip.
During my visit to the vibrant Las Vegas Strip, I was motivated to confront my fear of heights. A height obstacle in the shopping district caught my eye, and even children younger than me boldly took on the challenge. Encouraged by their bravery, I decided to give it a shot myself. And that’s when I fully embraced my fearless spirit.
Sometimes, God allows us to go through difficult times to guide us toward our destined path. This led to a newfound passion for travel, allowing me to learn more about myself.
